Why convert HEIC to PNG?

PNG keeps every pixel without further quality loss, so it is a good choice when you want to edit an iPhone photo or keep a lossless copy that opens on any device.

About the formats

HEIC
HEIC is the default photo format on iPhones. It keeps high quality at about half the size of JPG, but Windows, Android and many websites cannot open it.
PNG
PNG is lossless and supports transparency, which makes it ideal for logos, screenshots and graphics. Photos saved as PNG are much larger than JPG.

Frequently asked questions

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. Conversion happens entirely in your browser, so your photos never leave your device.

Is there a limit on file size or number of images?

There is no fixed limit. Very large images or big batches depend on your device’s memory, so on a phone it is best to convert a few dozen at a time.

Does converting remove photo metadata?

Yes. The new file contains only the image, so location data and camera details (EXIF) are removed — useful before sharing photos online.

What quality should I choose?

For photos, 75–85% is almost indistinguishable from the original while being much smaller. Use 90% or higher for printing, and 60–70% when file size matters most.
