How to use the timer
- Choose Timer, then enter hours, minutes and seconds or tap a preset.
- Press Start. The remaining time also shows in the browser tab.
- An alarm sounds when time is up. Use Stopwatch to measure elapsed time with laps.
Frequently asked questions
Does the timer keep running in another tab?
Yes. It is based on the clock, not on screen updates, so it stays accurate in the background and the tab title shows the time left.
Why didn't I hear the alarm?
Check that your device is not muted. Some browsers only allow sound after you have clicked on the page, which pressing Start does.
How long can the timer run?
Up to 99 hours, 59 minutes and 59 seconds.
How accurate is the stopwatch?
It shows hundredths of a second and uses your device clock, so it is accurate enough for workouts, cooking and presentations.
