Frequently asked questions

What order are operations done in?

Parentheses first, then factorials and percentages, then powers (right to left), then multiplication and division, then addition and subtraction. So -2^2 is -4.

What is the difference between log and ln?

log is the base-10 logarithm, so log(100) is 2. ln is the natural logarithm with base e, so ln(e) is 1.

Should I use degrees or radians?

Use degrees for everyday angles such as 30° or 90°. Use radians in calculus and physics, where π radians equal 180°.

Can I type with my keyboard?

Yes. Type the expression directly, use * and / for multiplication and division, and press Enter for the result.
