Frequently asked questions

Is my image uploaded?

No. Recognition runs in your browser with Tesseract. Only the language model is downloaded the first time you use each language.

How can I get better results?

Use a sharp, well-lit image with straight lines of text, and crop away everything that isn't text. Printed text works much better than handwriting.

Can it read text in several languages?

English is always added to the language you choose, so mixed text like Korean with English words works.

Can it read a PDF?

Convert the PDF pages to images with the PDF to JPG tool first, then drop the images here.
