How to split trip expenses
- Add everyone on the trip and choose the currency you will settle in.
- Add each expense with who paid it. Untick people who were not part of it, like someone who skipped a dinner.
- Open “Settle up” to see each person’s balance and the fewest transfers, then share the link or copy the summary to your group chat.
Frequently asked questions
How are transfers kept to a minimum?
The person who owes the most pays the person who is owed the most, and so on, so a group usually settles with fewer transfers than people.
Can I mix currencies?
Yes. Enter each expense in the currency you paid, and set the rate to the currency you settle in. Latest rates are filled in automatically and can be edited.
How does the share link work?
The whole list is packed into the link itself. Anyone who opens it sees the same result; nothing is uploaded or stored.
What if a cost was only for some people?
Tap names under “Split among” to leave people out of that expense. It is then shared only by the ones still selected.
